Day Shift: 8AM-4PM - $10.00/hr.
Swing Shift: 4PM-12AM - $10.35/hr.
Graveyard Shift: 12AM-8AM - $10.75/hr.
Job Description for Production Specialist:
- Cut tops, tails and peels off onions that come out of the machine and are not sufficiently clean
- Cut only unusable part of onions off onion
- Re-circulate onions through the re-peeler machine
- Place onions in pockets along moving belt on the topper/tailor machine at a/or better than standard
- Only discard bad product and keep good product waste to minimum
- Complete light sanitation duties
- Follow all GMP standards and safety standards while preforming job duties
- Rotate through positions or stay in positions according to the Floor Lead’s discretion
Position Requirements:
- Able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency accuracy
- Able to Travel to all areas of the plant efficiently, including climbing stairs
- Must be able to work in hot/cold environments
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to lift, up to 25 lbs
- Must be able to bend, stoup and twist
Job Description for Sanitation:
- Keep floors clean and free of debris using brooms and squeegee/brushes as much as possible in order to conserve water
- Keep Backus deck clean; put usable product back on the line and trash onto trash belt using buckets; lift buckets with legs for safety
- Do all tasks as assigned by Sanitation Lead
- Maintain good personal hygiene, follow GMP’s and keep a clean, safe and sanitary work place
- Immediately report any situation that may cause product to be contaminated
Position Requirements:
- Well organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Basic PC skills in MS Office and database management
- Knowledge of food industry regulations understands and is compliant with GMP standards
- Able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy
- Able to travel to all areas of the plant efficiently, including climbing stairs
- Able to lift 50 lbs frequently during shift
- Must be able to work effectively and safely in a wet and hot/cold environment
Job Description for Packaging:
- Place empty tote onto tote shaker underneath hopper
- Push button to start filling totes, operate shaker to consolidate product, and stop filling totes when it reaches the correct weight
- Make boxes
- Fill boxes with blue liners
- Make large totes and tape together
- Stamp boxes and stack finished product onto pallets in proper order and according to pattern
- Assist on the line as needed when there is downtime in packaging
- Keep packaging area clean and safe
- Assist with sanitation events as required
- Maintain good personal hygiene, follow GMP’s and keep a clean, safe and sanitary work place
- Immediately report any situation that may cause product to be contaminated
Position Requirements:
- Knowledge of food industry regulations understands and is compliant with GMP standards
- Able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy
- Able to travel to all areas of the plant efficiently, including climbing stairs
- Able to lift 60 lbs frequently during shift
- Must be able to work effectively and safely in a wet and hot/cold environment
Job Description for Receiving Operator:
- Transport totes and pallets of peppers or onions
- Take samples from inbound trucks
- Tag bins with appropriate grower pre – printed tags
- Clean out onion hoppers, must wear safety harness when carrying out this duty.
- Keep area clean and organized
- Move product to appropriate areas with forklift as necessary
- Maintain good personal hygiene, follow GMP’s and keep a clean, safe and sanitary work place
- Immediately report any situation that may cause product to be contaminated.
Position Requirements:

- Able to lift 50 lbs frequently during shift
- Must be able to work effectively and safely in a wet and hot/cold environment, indoors and outdoors
Job Description for Freezer Operator:
- Ensure temperature on freezers is correct by checking electrical panels on outside of freezers
- Ensure finished product temperatures are within range of required by customer specification
- Check temperature of blancher and maintain within proper ranges
- Maintain proper ammonia levels in chiller
- Complete wash down motors (motor defrost/sequentials) so temperature is maintained at proper levels
- Perform full defrost of the freezer including cleaning out entire freezer so it is bacteria free and product gets frozen correctly
- Check and adjust compressors to make sure freezer is operating correctly
- Assist with rework projects in packaging
- Periodically check on inspection line to make sure product is coming through clean and free from defects
- Verify that clump buster is functioning and adjust as needed
- Shovel out clumping product as needed to keep freezer running properly
- Maintain good personal hygiene, follow GMP’s and keep a clean, safe and sanitary work place.
- Immediately report any situation that may cause product to be contaminated
Position Requirements:
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Well organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of food industry regulations understands and is compliant with GMP standards
- Able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy
- Able to travel to all areas of the plant efficiently, including climbing stairs
- Good troubleshooting skills with mechanical inclination
- Must be able to use cleaning chemicals safely
- Must be able to read basic English
- Able to lift 50 lbs frequently during shift
- Must be able to work effectively and safely in a wet and hot/cold environment
- Able to bend, stoop, and work in tight spaces
- Able to enter and work in extremely cold area
